Deacon Herbert Jones came to Hot Springs in 1947. He worked as a parking
lot attendant for First National Bank (now closed) for 38 years and
retired there. He now ministers through visiting nursing homes and the
sick and shut in. At 86 years of age, he still cuts yards for people that
he has been doing for more than 30 years years. He also works at the
Pancake Shop downtown where he cleans up.
Deacon Charles Ashley is retired from ITL after 13 years. He served in
the United States Air Force for five years. He now works part-time in
security. He and is wife Carrie have been married for fifty-two years.
They have three sons, one is a pastor, one is an ordained minister, and
one serves as a deacon.

Deacon Joe Dobbins has served 22 years in the education field. He worked for five years at Southern Technical College (now closed) and six years in the Arkadelphia School District. He has worked 12 years as an English teacher in the Hot Springs School District. He and his wife, Cynthia, have been married since 2000. They have a son Michael who serves in the United States Air Force. Deacon Sean Softley works at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center as a dietary supervisory manager where he has been for the past thirteen years. He also served in the United States Navy as a ship service supply man. He has been married to Cassius for sixteen years. They have four children and one grandchild. He was ordained as a deacon in 2008. Deacon Jurwood Moxley retired Major of the United States Army. He is married to Eddiest Marie. |
